Closed Form

Closed Form is a stoneware work by Toshiko Takaezu, a ceramic.

Takaezu treated the ceramic vessel as a canvas and a contemplative object in equal measure, pouring and brushing glazes so that each closed form reads as a small landscape. Her work sits at the meeting point of the American studio pottery movement and Abstract Expressionism.
